What We believe

  • The purpose of education is to know God and to make Him known.

  • God trusts parents with their children, and so should we.

  • Wrestling with truth promotes blessing and virtue for the whole community.

  • Education is the responsibility of the family, with support from fellow believers.

  • The support of community enhances our ability to fulfill parental duties.

  • The accountability of community both sharpens and humbles its members.

  • Classical education embodies the most natural tools of learning.

  • Truth is required to inculcate wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

  • Classical education prepares us to accept the responsibilities of Christian freedom.

Our Vision

Classical Conversations fulfills its mission by curating curriculum, providing services and training parents to build flourishing homeschool communities.

Therefore, our team both practices and is committed to:

  • Submitting first our own bodies, minds, and spirits to the work of Christ as we join the great classical conversations of history.

  • Supporting licensed homeschooling leaders imitating Christ’s work of reconciliation by serving families pursuing a classical education.

  • Encouraging parents to develop the confidence to lead Christ’s natural classroom: the family.

  • Challenging entire families to cultivate the art of wisdom through knowledge and understanding.

  • Developing curriculum and services which ensure Classical Conversations’ families are equipped to conquer any obstacle in their pursuit of Christ.

About our community

Our homeschool community opened with a Foundations, Essentials, and challenge A program. Each year since then, our community has opened up a new class including Challenge B, Challenge 1, and Challenge 2.

CC Parrish is a community of parents that gather to pray, to learn how to instruct their children with classical learning methods, to encourage one another, to share ideas, to challenge themselves, and to join in the mission of education: "To Know God And Make Him Known." (CC)

Fun yearly highlights include: celebrating holidays together, field trips, field day, end of year/graduation celebrations, Memory Master Certificates, and more.

PARRISH PARENT TESTIMONIALS

When we moved down to Florida 2 years ago to start a new chapter and our homeschooling journey, I knew I wanted to be a part of a Christian community for support and that shared the same truths and ideas we did. The Parrish Classical Conversations Community has been a blessing to our lives. We, unfortunately, had to leave our family and village back in New Jersey, and I feel like we’ve found that here. The classical style of learning has proven to be effective for my two boys so far; seeing them recall information learned throughout the year because of the songs and repetition is awesome to witness! The questions they come up with on their own and the connections they make is cool to see, as well! Not only are my kids learning, but I feel like I’m getting to relearn and learn new things, also! We are excited to continue our homeschooling journey with CC!

Our family, consisting of an 8 and 6 years old, have been with the CC Parrish community for 3 years now. This is our first CC community and I don't plan to leave at all! Although the flexible nature of CC inevitably has families shift to different venues of homeschooling based on life's changes, the Parrish community has a core set of families who are hardworking to continue spreading God's teachings as central to our human history.  Our youngsters are always excited to come to learning day, as they are encouraged with independent thinking. Hands-on science and art  projects are supported by our director with tangible models such as crayfish specimens and trips to museums. No matter what happens, I feel confident the kids are always placed first in this community. Anything worth accomplishing takes a team effort and what we make of it. I believe this team I'm in fully understands this concept.

Chau N., Foundations program

I didn't think I could homeschool three small kids all the way through high school. I knew God had called me to homeschool my kids; I knew HE could do it, but I didn't think *I* could do it. We had several undiagnosed learning struggles within the house at the time. Without a roadmap, a plan, support... anxiety was high. I didn't think I could do it at all.
After joining CC in 2017, my confidence in my ability to homeschool has grown immensely, exponentially. I was able to explore each new milestone, struggle, fear, and curiosity through the structure of classical learning. Through the foundations, essentials, and (now) challenge program, I have watched my three children play in their childhood, thrive in their education, and blossom in a faith community that supports christian values and high educational goals. These 7 years have been life-changing, and I wouldn't homeschool any other way.
